Michael O’Connor meets with the Department of Finance

photo-liffeyThe Department of Finance is currently reviewing the Irish tax appeal system with the intention of introducing long overdue reforms. On 14th May 2014, as a representative of the Law Society Taxation Committee Michael O’Connor met officials at the Department to discuss proposals put forward by the Law Society Taxation Committee.

Dublin-1On 7th May 2014 Ursula appeared as a guest on the show “People’s Debate with Vincent Browne”. The discussion revolved around the upcoming elections for the European Parliament and the impact of eurosceptic political candidates.

Presentation at a networking breakfast organized by the Spanish Embassy

Powerscourt-2On 8th April 2014 Ursula delivered a lecture on “Fiscal environment and taxes in Ireland” at a networking event organized by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in conjunction with the Ireland Spain Economic Association (ISEA) and the Asociacion Espanola de la Economia Digital (adigital).

Elected as President of ISEA


On 9th January 2014, Ursula was elected as President of the Ireland Spain Economic Association (ISEA).

ISEA is a bilateral organisation, established in 1989. The object of the Association is to promote excellent bilateral business relations between Ireland and Spain. To achieve this, ISEA has developed, over the years, a network of business contacts, providing reciprocal opportunities to enhance mutually rewarding relationships.

The Association established a counterpart association in Madrid under the patronage of Ireland’s Ambassador to Spain.

Guest appearance on TV 3 Vincent Browne


On 14th November 2013, Ursula appeared as a guest on the Vincent Browne Show. The topic of the show was “Ending the bail-out”. Ursula and the other guests, Pearse Doherty, Kieran O’Donnell and Michelle Murphy discussed the government’s decision to exit the European Union-International Monetary Fund bailout without a precautionary credit line.
