Ursula Tipp discussed with the panel the speeches given by world leaders on the anniversary of the beginning of the First World War. Michael O’Connor and Ursula Tipp of Tipp McKnight Solicitors are ranked among the top lawyers by the Global and European Editions of Chambers & Partners 2014, along with the firm Tipp McKnight itself.
Michael O’Connor is recognised on Chambers & Partners 2014 as a ‘Senior Statesman’ among Irish tax lawyers and ranks with the top tax lawyers in the country in Band 2 of the discipline. Chambers & Partners 2014 describes him as having an “amazing reputation, particularly for stamp duty. He is active on tax committees and is exceptionally well regarded by sources.”
Ursula Tipp is ranked as one of the four top German Tax experts based abroad in the Global edition and also ranks in Band 3 of Irish tax experts, where she is described as “highly regarded for her expertise in German tax law” and “is currently the Vice-President of the German – Irish Lawyers and Business Association.”

The Department of Finance is currently reviewing the Irish tax appeal system with the intention of introducing long overdue reforms. On 14th May 2014, as a representative of the Law Society Taxation Committee Michael O’Connor met officials at the Department to discuss proposals put forward by the Law Society Taxation Committee.
On 7th May 2014 Ursula appeared as a guest on the show “People’s Debate with Vincent Browne”. The discussion revolved around the upcoming elections for the European Parliament and the impact of eurosceptic political candidates.
On 23th April 2014 Ursula made a presentation on “Ireland as a business location – economic links, law and tax” at the Belgium Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Ireland.

On 8th April 2014 Ursula delivered a lecture on “Fiscal environment and taxes in Ireland” at a networking event organized by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in conjunction with the Ireland Spain Economic Association (ISEA) and the Asociacion Espanola de la Economia Digital (adigital).
